… for sisterhood splendor on a rainy day

Amidst the rain and gloom, the Delta Zeta alumnae in the Northern Virginia and DC Metro area gathered for a beautiful tour of the Hillwood Museum and Gardens. Once the private home of Post Cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, we had the chance to see her private collections of Russian liturgical art, French china, and the famed Faberge eggs in addition to seeing her bedroom, entertaining spaces, and walk-in closet.

After our private tour, we were able to sit down and catch up over tea and scrumptious fare. Since we all come from different chapters and different walks of life, it was a great opportunity for me to learn more about them and vice versa. It was a such nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

And if, like me, you have never heard of Hillwood or Marjorie Merriweather Post, I suggest a little trip to a hidden part of Northwest DC. It’s truly a gem.
