For one week during the dog days of summer, people in town frantically make reservations at the fanciest restaurants. They score three-course lunches and dinners at the dining establishments they have always been meaning to check out. This week is near and dear to my heart, and I am sure will remain that way.
So what is this week? Restaurant Week! More than 200 restaurants across the area participated in this year’s Restaurant Week, including 1789, Casa Nonna, El Centro and SAX. Three-course lunch deals were priced at $20.11 per person, and three-course dinners were $35.11. In a place where mediocre food can cost a few too many pretty dimes, Restaurant Week comes as a much needed chance to indulge and feast.
Since I am trying to watch my wallet and save a bit more when it comes to food, I only visited two restaurants – the Ris at the Ritz Carlton and Dirty Martini. Both were absolutely fantastic. I ate every morsel of food in front of me, so it came as no surprise when I sat in a food coma afterwards!
Hopefully, I’ll be able to visit many more restaurants the next go-around. Until then, I’ll enjoy my PB&J sandwiches and homemade dinners. Restaurant Week, are you back yet?
