The USO has grown near and dear to my heart.
Back in October, I wrote my first entry about the USO. Though I had been volunteering with the organization before then, the story I heard while helping out on that particular day really touched my heart and I was compelled to share it immediately. Since then, it has truly been an honor to spend more time working with the USO and getting to know more about the organization.
Have no clue what the USO is? Don’t worry – I didn’t either until fairly recently! The USO stands for the United Services Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to lifting the morales of our troops and their families.
The main mission, since its inception in 1941, is to provide emotional support for the US military. Years have passed, and the USO has evolved by creating innovative programs and services to respond to changing times. Nevertheless, the USO continues to be there for America’s troops and their families.
